Our Mission

Purpose

Providing help and HOPE to the families at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta - CHOA who are experiencing life threatening cardiac illnesses.

Background

According to the March of Dimes, congenital heart defects are the #1 birth defect. In the U.S. alone, over 25,000 babies are born each year with a Congenital Heart Defect - CHD. That translates to one out of every 115 - 150 births. Some heart defects are mild, while others are more severe requiring multiple surgeries, a lifetime of medications, and for some people their only hope is a heart transplant.

My baby sister lost her fight at CHOA in 1979 to a CHD. Fifteen years later, with the knowledge they gleaned from her case, she left us a legacy, and gave our Lexie, and others like her, a fighting chance! Lexie was born with Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome. The prognosis was for three open heart surgeries before she was three. She's only had the first one, that was preparation for the two bigger ones, that would leave her without a right ventricle. CHOA has been amazing, and we want to give back the same HOPE that they gave us, to other families.

God is definitely still in the business of doing Miracles! Help us pay it forward and help other families at CHOA and Sibley Heart Center!
